Georges Armand Lacroix et Betty Klein in Egypt, visit to archaeological sites, 1935

TRAVEL SOURCES OF INSPIRATION, THE WORKSHOP, PLACE OF LIFE AND CREATION.

Winner of the Paris City Prize with the sculpture « Nausicaa », he left in 1932 for a year in North Africa. He stayed at the Bahia Palace in Marrakech for a few months, as well in Fez in the “Boujeloud Workshops”. Traveling was a source of inspiration for him. He brought back from his residences abroad numerous portraits and busts.

He settled in 1937 in a studio in the Cité Fleurie with his wife Elizabeth Klein, American painter, studio in which he sculpted a large part of his work. He will stay there until the end of his life.
